ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Varsity wrestling proved
unequal to a difficult season and inexperience this year. With but four letter
men as a nucleus, the team was represented largely by Frosh and new-comers to
the squad.
The first two meets with an undefeated Rochester Mechanics team saw the Purple
go down outclassed and outgeneraled. The grapplers, however, regained their
prestige in a decisive home victory over Brooklyn Polytech, 20½-10½. The annual
New England trip then yielded a 24-8 decision over Williams, but Brown and
Springfield, two of the strongest teams in the East, both scored heavily against
the Purple matmen. Syracuse, another wiry opponent, writhed its way to a close
16-11 victory in the last home meet of the season.
Captain D'Elia, Gallup, and Atwood shared the honors in the 115-lb. class with
a small degree of success, while Sanchez held undisputed possession of the
125-lb. post. Sadler and Boulton took turns in the 135-lb. event, and Hambel and
Grantier made the 145-lb. class one of the bright spots of the season. The 155
and 165-lb. classes were taken by a large group of representatives with Lane,
Staiman, and Phillips furnishing some outstanding work. Fredericks lost but one
decision in the 175-lb. class, while Bryant performed the best in the unlimited
position. (Kanakadea,
