ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Head Coach: Mr. Johnny McNab
This is the only picture of wrestlers in the 1945 Edisonian. Despite
the limited yearbook coverage, Edison Tech grapplers had the most
powerful team in the area, capturing 9 of 11 weight class at the
1945 Interscholastic League Championships. (PHOTO SOURCE: Edisonian, Edison Technical and
Industrial High School, 1945.)

From the 1946 yearbook:
Our wrestling team took nine out of eleven city
titles last year, and only Bill Morrison,
champ heavyweight, Bob Connal, 135 pound
champ, and Bob Ehmann, king of the 155
pounders have graduated. Other champs are Stanley Chelchowski,
95 pounds; Bob Peper, 104 pounds;
John Alaimo, 112 pounds; Don Kamm,
118 pounds; Ken Weil, 165 pounds; and Joe
Cassara, 175 pounds. One of the highlights last year was the ease with which
Joe, a freshman, defeated Monroe's pride, Hanson, a veteran performer. (Edisonian,
1946)
