ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

With the return of three veteran matmen, the wrestling squad, under the
supervision of Coach Yunevich, faced a tough schedule with such imposing
opponents as Buffalo, Lock Haven, and Syracuse. Although the team won only one
match in eight tries, they were not short on courage and showed promise of good
material for next year. Art D'Avanzo placed second in the 136 pound class at the
Interstate Invitational Meet at Case Institute in Cleveland, while Dale Thompson
placed third in the 155 pound class. Together, they managed to cop fifth place
out of 127 wrestlers entered in the meet.
The frosh matmen had no scheduled matches this year, but give Coach Yunevich
experienced men for next year's starting team. (Kanakadea, 1949)
