Archives

E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Geneva customarily boasts a strong wrestling team. This year was no exception even though the Panthers were not able to hold on to their conference championship. The Geneva grapplers opened the season with a bang, winning their first three matches before being stopped by a tough Dansville team. After Dansville the Panthers went on to beat C.A. in a close match. They rolled up an impressive number of wins to give them another winning season, but unfortunately lost a few crucial meets which spelled the loss of their championship. Geneva had three semi-finalists vying for state shields. Mr. Leach was unable to coach the team the last few weeks so Mr. Morrissette proved an able substitute. Co-captains Pete Blum and Dick Atkinson were among the group of Seniors whose graduation will leave Mr. Leach with a few holes to fill, but most Genevans look forward to another strong wrestling team.
