Archives

E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

A number of skilled performers under Coach Connerton helped bring the I.H.S. Varsity Wrestlers to a final 12-2-1 record. Exceptional Matmen included Captain Jay Whipple, Tom Borshoff, Bob Steihler, Dick Steihler, and Dick Clintsman. In Addition, Whipple and Borshoff were selected to the All-County Team, and Borshoff had the distinction of being nominated for High School All-American. Highlights of the season were the close victory over East Rochester and the tie with Webster. Later, at the sectionals, Borshoff won a first with a 1-0 decision, and Whipple captured second in his weight class.

Under Coach Slater, the J.V. Team also had an excellent season, closing with twelve wins, one loss. Undefeated John Griffen was captain, and outstanding wrestlers were Lyle Greenfield, Terry Huse, and Bruce Rosen. A victory over East Rochester also highlighted their season. (Neodaondaquat, 1964)
