ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

PENN YAN ― All four
leagues were well represented in the finals of the Section Five Class A
Wrestling Tournament here last night.
In Semifinal matches,
the Wayne-Finger Lakes League captured eight of 13 classes from the
Interscholastic League of Rochester, while the Monroe County League edged the
Southern Tier, 7-6, in winners.
In the closest match of
the semifinals, Geneva's Pete Achilles won
his 39th consecutive match with a referee's decision over Willie Turner
of Monroe after a scoreless double-overtime standoff.
Achilles, a sectional
champ last year, is in the 115-pound class.
There were only three
pins, Phil Nuciola of Franklin in the
235-pound class and Patsy DeVelis of Geneva and Dave Friedland
of Haverling in the unlimited matches.
Only 1965 champ who
failed to make the finals was Bruce Martin
of Eastridge, who lost a 6-3 decision to Dave English
of Corning West.
