ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Inexperience takes its toll
Many fine performances were tuned in by individuals as the 1975-76
Varsity wrestlers had a good year, winning eight of thirteen
matches.
John Scalzo at 91 pounds compiled a 7-3 record, winning the Webster
Tournament and taking fourth in Section V Double A Competition.
Freshman Tom Moracco won 12 of 15 matches in the 98 pound class.
Junior Terry Jahn was second in the Newark Tournament in the 105
pound class. A champion in three tournaments, senior John Zello was
15-2 during the season and finished third in Section V competition.
Another senior, Steve Cook, won 15 of 18 matches and finished second
in the Newark Tourney and in Section V. Eric Trumbull and Ralph Aten
were third in their class at Newark, while Kelly Drennen took a
first and Ron Flowers second. John Lebbon placed second in Section
V.
In regular season play, Chris Arthur won seven of his ten matches.
Steve Durso and Brian Knuuti, a four year veteran of the mats, also
wrestled for the team. Varsity coach is Mr. Brooks. (Seneca Saga,
1976)

ARMDRAG NOTE: Is "Midlakes, McQuaid, East" correct? It seems like there
should be three separate scores for what looks to have been a
quadrangular meet. |
