Archives

E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Inexperience takes its toll

There were several bright spots in the season including a 33-30 upset over Waterloo as eight freshman and sophomores took to the varsity wrestling mats for GHS.

individuals turning in fine performaces included John Scalzo, Dave Eldridge, Tom Moracco, and Terry Jahn. Jahn, 21-3 overall and 14-1 in dual meets, won both the Webster and Newark Tournaments, in each case triumphing over formerly undefeated defending champs. Other Webster Tourney champs, where Ray Watt took a second, were Scalzo and Moracco. Later at Newark Scalzo took a second place. At Spencerport Dave Eldridge, placing third at 155 pounds, was Geneva's only winner. (Seneca Saga, 1977)
