ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

PALMYRA - Attica advanced eight wrestlers to this weekend's wrestling
SuperSectionals at ESL Centre, winning the Class B championships yesterday at
Palymyra-Macedon High School.
Wayne and Hornell also had eight wrestlers each advance to SuperSectionals,
while five wrestlers from Newark qualified. Attica is ranked ninth in the state
and second in the latest Democrat and Chronicle large-schools poll.
Mike Smith of Hornell (118 pounds) was named most outstanding wrestler. He
defeated pinned Kyle Hegedorn of Wayne in 5 minutes, 9 seconds.
"The Attica guys really wrestled well," said Wayne coach and Class B coordinator
Ron Gross. "They've got a lot of seniors on their team and they really stepped
up and wrestled well.
"I feel strong about the Class B representatives for next weekend's tournament
at ESL. I think they're going to do very well."
Eastridge's Mike Latek (Eastridge) decisioned Phil Congdon of Midlakes 9-4 at
215 pounds. Wayne's Scott Fry pinned everyone he wrestled in the tournament at
275 pounds. Fry was also an Empire State Games gold medalist last summer.
Eight of 15 Wayne wrestlers advance to the SuperSectionals.
Eagles advancing include Karl Baum (112), Kyle Hegedorn (119) Drew Nagel (152)
and Fry.
