LE ROY - The host squad easily took the championship Saturday in the Le Roy Wrestling Tournament.
Le Roy wound up with 203.5 points, well ahead of runner-up Tonawanda at 138.5. Byron-Bergen was third at 127.5, Pavilion was sixth at 96, and Pembroke was eighth at 69. There were 10 teams in the field.
Le Roy had five individual champions.
Zac Condidorio won a 9-3 decision over Tonawanda's Doug Meister in the finals at 103 pounds to get Le Roy rolling. Damien Daniels pinned Mike McInally of Byron-Bergen in 27 seconds at 112.
At 125, Mike Gale won an 11-2 decison over Tyler Demitry of Marcus Whitman. At 135, Jeremy Cosimeno took a 3-2 decision over Tonawanda's Mike Mlynarski, while at 189, Chase Scutt took a 6-3 decision over Pavilion's James Gallagher.
Pembroke had a pair of individual champs. At 96, Nick Price pinned Dan Thom of Tonawanda in 1:07, while at 215, Joe Suhr pinned Mike Zalacca of Le Roy in 3:44. Byron-Bergen's Sam Herman claimed the crown at 140 with a 13-5 decision over Le Roy's Joe Cosimeno.
