Archives

E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Mandi Herrington, in her first match back from an injury sustained before the season, scored a 5-4 overtime victory over Avoca's David Hogan.

"It was a big match for Mandi," Addison head coach Frank Bielski said. "She handled the pressure well. It's nice to have her back."

Brandon Morseman and Chris Snow also picked up wins via forfeit for the Knights.

Jerry Gardner (140) and Will Hubbard (152) racked up pins to lead Avoca.

Addison outpoints Lion wrestlers, 36-33;
Lightweight pins highlight Wellsville effort
Wellsville Daily Reporter

Wednesday, December 8, 2004

WELLSVILLE ― Considering that they lost this same matchup by 43 points last year, it's no wonder the Wellsville coaches were happy with a three-point loss to Addison in the Lions' first action of the season last night.

"They beat us 55-12 last year so we're very happy," said co-coach Bill Sortore after the Knights walked away with a 36-33 decision in this one. "We've got a lot of young kids and they did well. The future's looking bright."

Wellsville's youngest wrestler, 103-pound seventh-grader Ethan Lamphier, started his career with a very impressive first period pin, while freshman 112-pounder Mitch Fanton needed just about a minute longer to match that achievement.

Ben Pettenati, a sophomore 119-pounder, pulled off the comeback of the night, pinning Mike Kahabka with just seconds left in the match after trailing 11-1.

Jim Kozlowski, a 215-pound junior wrestling for the first time, had the evening's quickest pin when he disposed of Mike Andreason in just 83 seconds, and senior captain Mike O'Boyle earned a 4-2 decision in the last match of the meet.

The Lions are off until next weekend when they'll participate in the Jamestown Invitational Tournament.
