New York's Yianni Diakomihalis was Team USA's most recent Cadet World Champion. Yianni was utterly impressive from start to finish winning by tech, pin, tech, 10-5 and 6-3!

Yianni secured the Gold medal with a 6-3 win over Japans Jintaro Motoyama. Yiannis' fearless approach and high pace proved to be too much for the 58kg field. Down 0-2 early in his finals match, Yianni hit a clean left side high crotch and finished for 4. That shot ultimately was the difference in the match.
