Arujau Tops Suriano; Nationally-Ranked Wrestlers Battle at Journeymen Classic
October 05, 2015

State champs and nationally ranked wrestlers were everywhere on Sunday at the Journeymen Classic at Union College in the Albany area, as fans were treated to top notch wrestling throughout the day.

One of the potential highlight matches leading up to the tournament was at 125 pounds where two of the top four wrestlers in the nation, Syosset's Vito Arujau and Bergen Catholic's Nick Suriano, were both registered. The big showdown took place in the finals, where Arujau scored a reversal with less than 10 seconds remaining to win 2-1.

Fellow New Yorkers Yianni Diakomihalis (Hilton) and Kevin Parker (Shenendehowa) recorded pins in the finals against nationally ranked foes at 135 (Kanen Storr of Michigan) and 182 (Antonio Agee of Virginia), respectively, to finish off dominant showings.
