Rushville kerfufel over Martin building 'up to the lawyers'
November 08, 2016

RUSHVILLE — About 30 residents waited quietly for an hour Monday night as Rushville's two trustees, Holly Krossber and Kim Payne, and Mayor John Sawers huddled in executive session at the start of the regularly scheduled board meeting. In the end, they passed the baton to the lawyers.

The night was a far cry from the ruckus raised by nearly 75 frustrated attendees who pushed back hard just one month earlier.

One of two topics addressed in executive session: the fate of the village-owned Martin Tire building at 7 N. Main St., formerly the home of Imperial Wrestling Club, headed up by Marcus Whitman wrestling coach Terry Lucero.
