Cornell Wrestling Claims Three Titles At Binghamton Open

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Three Cornell wrestlers won titles at the 2016 Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open on Sunday at Binghamton's Events Center. In all, Cornell had five wrestlers reach the finals and 12 place-winners in the tournament.

Senior Mark Grey won the 133-pound bracket, topping No. 13 Cameron Kelly of Ohio University in the finals, 9-5. He won his first three matches of the tournament with bonus points attached, including two major decisions and a first period fall, on the way to the finals.

Reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year Joey Galasso picked up where he left off a season ago, ripping off five straight wins - two tech falls, two major decisions and a 9-5 decision over Penn State's Gary Dinmore in the finals at 149 pounds.

Rounding out the Big Red's tournament champions was sophomore Brandon Womack at 165. Womack won five straight matches, including a 9-0 major decision over Binghamton's Vincent Deprez in the finals.
