Alfred State junior wrestler George Van Valen (Ithaca) has added another honor. This afternoon Van Valen was named the USCAA wrestler of the week. Van Valen is the first winter athlete to earn USCAA honors this year.
Van Valen went 5-0 this week and is 7-0 on the season. He pinned Cole Rock (Brockport) in 1:26, defeated Corbin Bunsold (Otterbein) 17-4, defeated Kevin Khoma (John Carroll) 7-2, pinned Noah Nuno (Lourdes) in 2:37, and pinned John Cooper (Adrian) in 1:36.
Van Valen was named the #PioneerPinpoint Athlete of the Week yesterday.
Van Valen and the Pioneers will return to action on December 3rd when they compete in the RIT Tournament.
