First-year Maryvale wrestling coach Dale Striker was able to help the Flyers earn an early taste of victory Nov. 30, as Maryvale kicked off divisional competition by taking down Tonawanda, 37-35, in what he called "one of the most intense matches I have ever been a part of."

"Tonawanda was incredibly well coached, which made getting the win even more thrilling," Striker said. "We had some holes in our lineup too, which just adds to the win."
