Clarence Wrestlers win own Vesper Duals tourney
December 20, 2016

For the first time in three seasons, Clarence's wrestling squad was able to emerge from its own annual Jon Vesper Memorial Duals Tournament as team champion after it went 5-0 to claim the title in the tournament's 10th year of existence.

Coach Jason Chase called his squad's 36-31 win over Lockport the biggest of the five, noting that the Lions have been "one of the better teams in the area for a while now." Antoine Walker (99 pounds), Zach Braunscheidel (145), Sean Kloss (285), Christian Rider (195 pounds) and Joe Manarino (170) all scored pins over their Lockport opponents, while Aiden Rabideau (106) also earned a win to help him secure an undefeated run through his weight class on the day.
