Williamsville South's wrestling team got off to a strong lead in its home dual against Iroquois on Friday but fell short, 37-36.

South won its five bouts and eight of the first 10 matches, but could not overcome Iroquois' middle weights from 132 on.

"We were hoping for some pins in key matches," South coach Chris Heximer said. "I need to give some of Iroquois' younger wrestlers credit because they wrestled very well, and in my opinion, earned the victory for them."
