Newark wrestler is lightweight MOW at home tournament

NEWS

NEWARK — The Newark High School wrestling team hasn't enjoyed the best of seasons on the mat, particularly in dual-match settings.

However, the Reds have some top-notch talent, particularly in the lightweights — and two of those individuals starred Saturday.

Sean-Paul Whittlesey and Troy Ludolph earned championships to help Newark take eighth place in its annual Jack Fisher Invitational. The Reds' 106.5 points trailed Brockport (397), Wayne (2191⁄2), Gouveneur (216), Midlakes (214), Byron-Bergen (146.5), North Rose-Wolcottt (133) and Geneva (119.5) in the final rundown.
