January 19, 2017

Cleveland Hill/Depew's wrestling team has seen many highs during the first half of the season, including tournament championships and wrestlers surpassing the 100-win mark for their career.

Matt Eldridge, who is currently 27-2 on the season, won his weight class at the recently held Lockport Tournament for the current eighth-ranked small school team in Western New York. Both losses came during the annual Niagara Frontier Wrestling Officials Association Tournament at Niagara County Community College, where Eldridge placed seventh at 220 pounds.

Phil Calandra, meanwhile, recorded his 100th career victory by pinning a very good wrestler during the annual Wildcats Duals Tournament. Calandra has scored pins in 23 out of his 29 matches to date on the year.
