11-year-old Avon youth wrestler Reese Levendusky of Slingshot Wrestling Club was recently ranked #5 in New York by NYYouthWrestling.com, their first ranking of the season. The second ranking had him at #6. He's ranked at 80 pounds in the 11-12 division. This after Levendusky won his first two tournaments of the year, including Battle of the Thrones last month in Rochester and "The Lion's Den" in October.

Levendusky also wrestled for "NYWAY West" at Cornell in November at the Finger Lakes Wrestling Club Fall Classic, an interstate team tournament featuring some of the best wrestlers from around the northeast US. His wins at the event included a victory over a state champion from Maine and a MAWA (Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Association) All-American from Pennsylvania. His losses were only by decision.

Levendusky will compete for the Avon youth team in the Greater Rochester Youth Wrestling League that starts this week, along with younger siblings Jack and Audrey. Audrey took 2nd in Oklahoma last year at nationals. His older sisters, female USA Wrestling All-Americans Joye & Esther Levendusky, wrestle for the Avon varsity program.
