Lancaster wrestling team wins first-ever sectional dual meet title
January 25, 2018

It was an eventful week for the Lancaster wrestling team. The Legends defeated Clarence in a rivalry match Wednesday to claim the ECIC I Division Title. Saturday, they became the first-ever team to win a Section VI Dual Meet Championship.

"It's an honor obviously," Lancaster coach Ron Lorenz said. 'The kids earned it. They showed up. We were a little nervous going in to the day. We won two championships in four days. We won a huge rivalry match Wednesday, so to come back three days later and show up against Niagara Wheatfield and Grand Island and handle the pressure situation to dominate and win the title, was amazing. It took a lot of physical and mental strength to win two major competitions. I was really happy with what we did. The kids showed up and did a great job."
