Brockport Takes Third At John Summa Invitational

BEREA, Ohio - The No. 16 ranked College at Brockport wrestling team took home third place overall at the annual John Summa Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace. Jonathan Haas (125), and Triston Engle (197) each brought home the top spot in the respective weight classes.

Haas' bracket featured a victory by fall, two decisions, and a major decision, capped off with a 6-1 decision of Chad Craft of host Baldwin Wallace in the championship bout. The senior is now 28-1 on the season, and is still ranked No. 1 in the nation at the 125-lb weight class.

Dillon Stowell also had a good day in the 133-lb weight class, taking home fourth place overall. The senior advanced all the way to the semifinals with a tech fall and major decision win before dropping his next two bouts to settle for fourth.

Zack Barker also took fourth in the 141-lb weight class, taking a similar route by winning his first three bouts before falling in the semifinals. Zack Brown, Jordan Kayes, Jackson Bell, and Nathan Walker all finished in the top eight of their respective weight classes as well.

Defending Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC) wrestler of the week Triston Engle stayed hot with another tournament win in the 197-lb weight class. The junior pinned four out of his five opponents, capped off by a win by fall over Wabash' Grant Gough in the championship bout.

Brockport will travel to Middletown, Conn. next weekend for the Wesleyan College duals.
