February 14, 2018

Zach Braddell remembers the pain of losing the Section VI Division II 120-pound final last year. There was no stopping the Tonawanda junior wrestler this year.

Braddell, the top seed, beat second seed Owen Kissell of Alden-Akron by major decision, 10-2, in the 126-pound final of Saturday's Division II Championships at Lake Shore High School.

North Tonawanda junior Tyler Bartolomei improved to 40-0 after winning a Division I section title at 106 pounds Saturday at Lake Shore High School.

After receiving a first-round bye, Bartolomei pinned Jadel Friel of Williamsville South in 37 seconds in the quarterfinals and fourth seed Owen Weller of Frontier in 2:56 in the semifinals. He then blanked second seed Jake Harry of Lancaster, 4-0, in the final, avenging a loss from last year's 99-pound semifinals.
