Sims Named ECWC Rookie of the Week

BROCKPORT, N. Y. - The College at Brockport wrestling program earned their first ECWC honor of the season as Elijah Sims was named the Rookie of the Week.

Sims impressed in the 133-weight class, taking a second-place finish in the New York State Intercollegiate Championships. His first match ended in a 12-5 decision before securing a 5:59 fall in his second bout. His third competition ended in a 16-6 major decision in favor of Sims before earning an 11-6 decision in the semi-final. Despite the final's loss, the freshman wrestler impressed against good competition.
