SPENCERPORT — Spencerport, the top-ranked large school wrestling team in the state, won its annual Teike-Bernabi Tournament on Saturday for the fourth consecutive season.

The Rangers scored 201 points to finish ahead of runner-up Wayne (152.5) and point themselves toward the Union-Endicott Duals in the Binghamton-area next Saturday.

Spencerport's Josh Fuller at 103 pounds, Brett Woodward at 112, Chuck Zimmerman at 140 and Steve Stulpin at 160 won their weight classes. Stulpin improved his record to 16-0.

Wayne senior Mike Patterson won a tightly contested bout with Cole Merryman of the LaSalle Institute, 2-1 in the 215 final. Merryman finished fourth in the Beast of the East Tournament in Delaware and Patterson was a 2002 state runner-up.

Patterson scored his points on a reversal in the second period and rode most of the third, until he let Merryman to his feet.
