Core of veteran grapplers lead Legends into 2019-20 season

Last season, the Lancaster varsity wrestling team posted a 10-3 record, which was good enough for second place in Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division I, and this season, the Legends are returning most of its pieces from that group.

Two notable exceptions are Nick Barberio, who earned a third-place finish at sectionals, and Brandon Goodwin, said 10th-year Lancaster head coach Ron Lorenz.

“Nick was a driving force for our team last year, but we have sectional finalist Myles Gronowski, third-place sectional finisher Michael Schaefer and another hammer, Kaleb Schurkus, to solidify the lineup in the area,” Lorenz said.
