Back on the Mat Saturday for the Brockport Duals

BROCKPORT, NY - The College at Brockport wrestling program is set to host Pitt-Bradford and Alfred State for the Brockport Duals on Saturday at the Special Events Recreation Center. The duals are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Nationally-Ranked: Junior Matt Caccamise is currently ranked No. 7 nationally in the 125 pound weight class and enters the weekend with a 15-2 overall record. He has two tournament wins under his belt this season, including first place finishes at the Brockport Open as well as a New York State title back in November. He also added a second place finished at the Mount Union Invitational and the New Standard Corporation Invite.

Dominating Start: Heavyweight Richard Knapp hit the ground running this season and has dominated the heavyweight division all year long. He currently has a team-best 18-1 overall record this season, with his lone loss of the year coming in the semifinals of the New Standard Invite. His resume this season features first place finishes at the Brockport Open, the Mount Union Invite, the New York State College Tournament and a third place finish at the New Standard.

Sims Working His Way Back: Elijah Sims will wrestle in the 141 pound weight class this weekend for Brockport and enters the dual with a 5-3 record this season. He posted a second place finish earlier this year at the New York State College Tournament and looks to be back to full strength for the second semester run.

Brown off to a Solid Start: Zack Brown enters the weekend with a 12-5 overall record this season and his 2019-20 resume features a first place finish at the Brockport Open and a third place finish at the New York State College Tournament in the 157 pound weight class. Brown will drop down to 149 this weekend for the dual against Pitt Bradford and Alfred State.

Hot Start for Reed: Austin Reed will be back in the 149 pound weight class this weekend after starting the season with a 10-5 overall record. The first half of the season featured a first place finish at the Mount Union Invitational and a third place finish at the Brockport Open.

Adding Depth to the Roster: Chris Eames has started the season with an 8-5 overall record in the 174 pound weight class. He posted a fifth place finish at the New York State College Tournament for the Golden Eagles. Devon Shader has a 9-4 record this season and posted a third place finish at States, while Joe Yanis has a 14-5 overall record at 184 this season. Yanis placed second at the Brockport Open, third at the New York State College Tournament and he also added two fifth place finishes at the Mount Union invite and the New Standard Invite. Justin Jones also has a 12-4 record at 197 for the Golden Eagles.
