The Lancaster varsity wrestling team put it all together on Friday and Saturday, as the Legends took home the Erie County Interscholastic Conference Wrestling Championships team crown, while Ryan Stencel and Codie Scotland claimed individual titles.

Lancaster scored 246.5 points to power its way to the team title over Iroquois (185), and head coach Ron Lorenz said it was exciting to see the team wrestle at such a high level.

“We just kind of hadn’t been right after the [Dual Meet Championships] but we’re starting to peak a little bit. We’re starting to hit our stride,” he said. “Everybody wrestled well. Typically, we struggle in the wrestlebacks, and, I mean, there were a lot of guys that did a lot of work in the wrestlebacks to get us all those team points. I was really happy with the way we wrestled back, and … a lot of our guys that were struggling a little bit, they’re starting to move on the uptick. We’re wrestling well right now.”
