No.1 McKendree Wins NCWWC Championship Title

(ADRIAN, Mich. - Mar. 7) - McKendree University No.1 women's wrestling competed in the inaugural Cliff Keen National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championship (NCWWC) Friday and Saturday afternoon at Adrian College. The Bearcats finished in first place with 191.0 team points and five individual champions.

This was the first national-level tournament and championship in the NCAA for affiliated women's wrestling programs. The Bearcats had five national champions including Pauline Granados (Rialto, CA/Wilmer Amino Carter High School), Alexia Ward (Portland, OR/Westview High School), Emma Bruntil (), Alexandria Glaude (West Sacramento, CA/Christian Brothers High School) and Sydnee Kimber (Sitka, AK/Mt Edgecombe High School). In addition, they had two second-place finishes, one fourth-place finish, one fifth-place finish, one sixth-place finish, two seventh-place finishes and one eighth-place finish.

155-lb:
No.2 Alexandria Glaude (West Sacramento, CA/Christian Brothers High School) took the first round by pin at 0:22 (4-0) over Kim Nunez of North central College. Glaude won by technical fall at 2:25 (TF 10-0) over Taylor Hites of Tiffin University. Glaude won by a 4-1 decision over teammate Levendusky. In the first-place match, Glaude won by a 3-1 decision over Jayden Laurent of Lakeland University. Glaude finished first overall and went 4-0 on the tournament.


No.3 Joye Levendusky (Avon, NY/Avon High School) took the first round by a technical fall victory at 0:52 (TF 10-0) over Kira Gilliland of Colorado Mesa University. Levendusky won by a 9-5 decision over Marlynne Deede of Augsburg University. Levendusky was defeated in a 4-1 decision to teammate Glaude. Levendusky won by technical fall at 3:39 (11-0) over Annabelle Helm of Gannon University. In the third-place match, Levendusky was defeated in a 5-0 decision to Alyvia Fiske of Simon Fraser University. Levendusky finished fourth overall and went 3-2 on the tournament.
