Brockport defeats Lycoming as Murray reaches milestone
Head coach Don Murray recorded his 300th career victory Friday night against Lycoming

Head Coach Don Murray won his 300th career dual victory Friday night as the College at Brockport Wrestling team defeated Lycoming College 34-6. Murray reached the milestone in his first attempt as the Golden Eagles took part in their first duals meet of the season.

Brockport took control of the meet right from the get go. Freshman Tyler Marlow (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) scored a major decision 9-0 over Edward Exler in the 125 lb. weight class to earn four points for Brockport. Rocco Rosso (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) also scored a major decision, a 17-6 victory over Zachary Finn in the 133 lb. weight class.

Eliah Golding (Albany, NY/Colonie) defeated Caleb Willey, also by a major decision, 10-1 in the 141 lb. weight class. Daniel Palmerino (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) kept the winning streak going for the Golden Eagles, as he won by decision over Lucas Wisniewski 5-4.

Tom Rispoli (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow), who scored a victory last year at the Lycoming duals, scored a major decision over Brian Watkins in the 157 lb. weight class by a score of 16-6. Rispoli's record improves to 10-4 on the season.

Justin James (Spencerport, NY/Brockport), competing for the first time since the Brockport/Oklahoma Invitational, won by decision over Greg Wetzel in the 165 lb. weight class. Clayton Neivert (Ossining, NY/Ossining), fresh off a third-place finish at the Spartan Invite scored the only pin of the meet, taking down Joshua Gochnauer in 40 seconds.

Wheeler Brunschmid (Sherburne, NY/Sherburne-Earlville) won by a decision in the 184 lb. weight class and Patrick Krenz (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) finished off the meet for the Golden Eagles with a decision at the 285 lb. division.
