BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo wrestling head coach John Stutzman announced that two wrestlers signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, the first day of the signing period. Mason Bush and Andy Lucinski will join the UB wrestling program beginning in the fall of 2021.
Bush wrestled at Central Valley Academy in Ilion, NY. He is a three-time sectional champion and finished third at the state championships twice. He has a career record of 239-31 and is a four-time state placer, finishing fifth, third, third and fourth. He is projected to wrestle at 133 for the Bulls and plans to major in business administration.
A local product, Lucinski wrestled at Newfane High School. He is a three-time sectional champion, two-time state runner up and three-time state placer. He was also a finalist at the Eastern States Classic. Lucinski has a career record of 197-25. He is also a two-time New York State freestyle champion and twice a member of the NYS Freestyle Greco Roman national dual team. He is projected to wrestle at 125 for the Bulls and plans to major in history.
"We are extremely excited to sign Andy and Mason during the first day of the signing period," Stutzman. "They both are very competitive in everything they do and we are lucky to have them. Having the opportunity to watch these two train throughout their high school careers, I knew they would be a great fit for what we are doing here."
The 2020-21 UB wrestling season is scheduled to start in early January.
