COVID-19 was again an opponent for Section V teams this winter.

Some sports started sooner than others, each with protocols unique to its game. Social distancing, limited spectators and masks were universal concepts.

Skiers lost their traditional, intimate dinners. Teams bowled against each other with barriers between them. Indoor track and field athletes competed at sectionals on turf ? not a track. Pools limited the number of swimmers. Wrestling and basketball almost had their seasons canceled.

Still, the best-of-the-best from the Rochester area were able to shine.
