BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo wrestling team faced their third straight nationally ranked program and Sunday's test was the toughest one yet. The Bulls lost to fourth-ranked Michigan, 31-3, at Alumni Arena.

The Wolverines featured six nationally ranked wrestlers. Despite the loaded roster, the Bulls hung in there in several matches.

At 141, Ben Freeman dropped a 3-1 sudden victory decision to Cole Mattin. John Arceri followed by losing a close 2-0 decision to #18 Kanen Storr.

At 157, Ty Raines only lost a 4-3 decision to #15 Will Lewan. Noah Grover battled 11th-ranked Cameron Amine tight but lost, 3-2.

Toby Cahill was victorious at 285. He was able to pull out a 2-0 decision over Bobby Striggow.

"We fought hard," head coach John Stutzman said. "I'm proud of our guys and the effort today. After wrestling three ranked teams in three weeks, we know where we are and we look forward to building on the success we had."

The Bulls will be back in action at Binghamton next Sunday.
