Ithaca Wrestling Picks up a Pair of Wins against Oswego State and Nassau CC

OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Ithaca College wrestling team returned to action for its first taste of competition of 2024 as they competed in a tri-meet against both Nassau Community College and Oswego State. The Bombers won both duals, first defeating Nassau 34-16 and then were even more dominant taking down the Lakers 29-10.

The Bombers earned three pins during the middle portion of the dual. Jeremy Mazzella earned the fall over Adonis Lawrence in 4:31 as also getting them were Jake Jones at 184 lbs. and Jackson Grey was uber impressive doing it in 32 seconds. Also coming up big and scoring five points that put the Bombers up 16-10 was Konrad Parker who went over Joseph Mattei via a technical fall, 17-2.

Both Isaias Torres and Matthew Beyer earned major decision victories over their respective opponents.

In a matchup that has seen both wrestlers best shots as they've wrestled a couple of times in the past, Isaias Torres and Michael Santore entertained to a 2-1 decision in favor of Torres. At 125 lbs., Cosmo Damiani earned a 10-1 major over Michael Hade to earn his fifth victory of the season. Also coming up with a major decision was Jeremy Mazella who outscored his opponent 10-2.

Ithaca was able to stack momentum with respective victories coming from Joseph Averill, Matthew Beyer and Konrad Parker. Beyer defeated Tyker Rossini 7-3 as Averill also earned a decision (11-6) and Parker pinned Steven Felice in 31 seconds. Jake Jones was uber impressive earning his fall in 3:57.

The Bombers improved to 3-2 in duals and will return to action in less than a week where they will compete in the annual Bud Whitehill duals in Williamsport, Pa. on Friday and Saturday.
