National Wrestling Hall of Fame - Upstate New York Chapter

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame of the New York State Chapter would like to announce the eight new inductees into the Hall of Fame and this year's winner of the Outstanding American Award. The Upstate New York Chapter is dedicated to the main goals of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame which are (1) recognizing excellence in wrestling in the Upstate New York area; (2) preserving the rich and colorful history of wrestling in New York and (3) inspiring future generations of New Yorkers to
participate in one of the oldest and best sports in the world.

This year we take great pride in recognizing nine individuals who will be honored at this occasion on September 20, 2015 at the Double Tree Hotel in East Syracuse, New York: The nine individuals who will be honored at this occasion are:
  • Richard Brown - wrestling coach at Owego High School
  • Jeff Cuilty - wrestling coach at Wallkill High School
  • Dennis DiSanto - wrestling coach at Somers and Mahopac High Schools
  • Sam Elia - wrestling coach of Norwich High School - post humorous
  • Frank Giltner - official and coach at Norwich High School - post humorous
  • Joseph Gustainis - coach at Caledonia-Mumford High School
  • Donald New - coach at Canastota High School
  • John Roselli - coach at McQuaid Jesuit High School
  • Dr. Thomas Martin - physician at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton has been selected to receive the Outstanding American Award
In addition, Tim Herman, owner and operator of Armdrag.com, will receive the new annual "Stanbro Media Award" given to the individual who has best promoted and publicized wrestling in the media for the 2014-15 season.

Tristan Rifanburg of Norwich High School, a three time New York State Champion, has been selected the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's - Outstanding Wrestler for the 2014-15 season. Tristan will be continuing his education at the University of Binghamton next year.
