RIPLEY - Everyone knew the Maple Grove Red Dragons' wrestling team was built for tournaments.

With five returning state qualifiers, the only question heading into Saturday's Class D finals was just how many wrestlers the Red Dragons would send to next weekend's Section VI tournament.

The answer was an astonishing 13, including seven champions, as Maple Grove took first place in the team standings with 242.5 points. Chautauqua Lake placed second with 208 points and Gowanda took third at 148. Randolph took fourth with 130 followed by Cattaraugus-Little Valley/Pine Valley (106.5), Wilson (85), Portville (82), Franklinville (80), Salamanca (34) and Frewsburg (23).
