The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District was established in 1969 through a merger of the neighboring Honeoye Falls and Lima school districts. Prior to 1969, Honeoye Falls athletes were known as the Hornets; their colors were black & orange. Lima's colors were black & gold. (What was their nickname?) HF-L's current colors of black & gold were selected as a combination of its parent school colors.
