A hectic opening week and weekend of wrestling in week one of the 2024-2025 high school wrestling season quickly morphed into an even more chaotic week two. Twenty-four ‘ranked’ (WNY large and small school top-10 and honorable mention) teams were in action with weeknight duals from Tuesday, Dec. 10 to Thursday, Dec. 12 to include five duals between ranked teams (via Power Ranking Two). After the dust settled Thursday evening, nineteen out of twenty ranked squads were victorious against unranked or lower ranked squads, with the lone ‘upset’ coming by way of a 39-34 ECIC II victory for Starpoint over honorable mentioned league foe Williamsville South on Wednesday at home.
