Several local wrestlers are representing Section III at the 54th annual New York State Public High School Athletic Association wrestling championships this weekend at the Times Union Center in Albany.

Competition in Division I and Division II got under way today with preliminary, quarterfinal and wrestle-back bouts.

Action will resume on Saturday, with the semifinals scheduled for 10 a.m. followed by consolation matches at 2 p.m. Doors will reopen for the finals at 5 p.m., with the championsip matches getting started at 6:30.

Holland Patent will be sending three representatives, two of whom have competed and taken home titles at the state level before: senior Alex Herringshaw and junior Hunter Richard.
