Binghamton Has Five Place Winners at Navy Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Binghamton wrestling team posted five individual place winners at the Navy Classic, which was held on Saturday. In the team standings, the Bearcats were seventh out of 12 teams.

A week after winning the Jonathan Kaloust Open, junior Steve Schneider was the runner up in the 184 weight class. He went 4-1 at Navy to improve to 9-1 on the season.

Vincent DePrez continued his strong start to the year by placing third at the 165 weight class. He was the runner up at the Kaloust Open last weekend.

Another Bearcat off to a solid start is Steven Bulzomi, who was fourth at the 125 weight class. Last week, he was third at the Kaloust Open.

For the second week in a row, Dylan Caruana was fourth at the 141 weight class.

Parker Kropman, meanwhile, was sixth at the 149 weight class.

Indiana won the team title.

The Bearcats will send other wrestlers to the New York State Championships, which will be held at Cornell on Sunday.
