BATAVIA — The story of Byron-Bergen's Russell Cunningham is nothing less than inspirational.

Born with a very rare birth defect, Cunningham has lived his life without his right leg and only half of his left leg. He has lived his life in a wheelchair and needing the assistance of others, but that has never let that hold the determined Cunningham back.

After two years of trying to gain clearance from his doctors and his physical therapist, Cunningham was finally able to join the wrestling team at Byron-Bergen as a junior and spent the last two winters on the mats with his Bees teammates.
