Fechko Promoted to UB Associate Head Coach

BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo wrestling head coach John Stutzman has announced the promotion Boomer Fechko to association head coach. Fechko is entering his third season with the UB wrestling program.

Since being hired as an assistant coach in 2015, Fechko has made a major impact with the Bulls' lightweight wrestlers. In 2016, Fechko helped coach Bryan Lantry (133) and Colt Cotten (149) to the NCAAs. In 2017, Lantry returned to the NCAAs and finished one win shy of the podium. Kyle Akins (125) also advanced to the NCAAs.

"Coach Fechko has done a tremendous job here," Stutzman said. "He lives for UB wrestling and I am honored in promoting him to Associate Head Coach. Knowing his professional goals, this is the next step for him. I am excited to continue working with him as we continue to build our program to national recognition."

Fechko came to Buffalo from Dakota Wesleyan where he served as the Tigers' head coach in 2014-2015. The Ohio native's coaching stops also included Bloomsburg as well as Brunswick and Quincy High Schools.
