Bulls Head to Iowa to Face the 7th-Ranked Hawkeyes on Friday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo wrestling team will travel to Iowa to face the seventh-ranked Hawkeyes as part of the Iowa City Duals on Friday.

The Bulls are 0-1 in duals on the season after dropping the season opener to CSU Bakersfield, 22-14, on Nov. 2. Bryan Lantry, Jason Estevez, Brett Perry and Jake Gunning all earned wins for the Bulls. Lantry remains in the national rankings, ranked 5th at 133 lbs.

Friday will be the opening dual for Iowa. The Hawkeyes will wrestle Iowa Central CC prior to their match with the Bulls. Iowa has four wrestlers in the national rankings. Michael Kemerer is ranked 3rd at 157 lbs.; Alex Marinelli is ranked 14th at 165 lbs.; Cash Wilcke is ranked 11th at 197 lbs. and Sam Stoll is ranked 7th at 285 lbs.

This is the third meeting between the Bulls and Hawkeyes. In the last meeting, Iowa shutout Buffalo, 46-0, in 2014.
