The Lancaster wrestling team is among the best in Western New York nearly every season, and they're aiming to be just that this year. The team returns a solid group of contributors that placed well at last year's sectional and state championship meets.

"We're solid all the way through," Lancaster coach Ron Lorenz said. "We have some young guys in the middle weights, but they're tough. We're solid with our lineup down low and with Joe Andreessen anchoring us up top with a couple veterans from last year. We have three section champions and a sectional finalist and a couple more place winners. That's eight guys out of 15 in our lineup that were section champs or section place winners. Not too many team in Section VI have that."
