January 02, 2018

Amherst's wrestling team only entered nine out of a possible 15 entries into the 50th annual Akron Tournament Friday, but still finished fourth overall.

"The guys that wrestled continued to wrestle at a very consistent level," Amherst coach Dennis Bauer said. "I credit them for their excellent mental preparation for matches."

Calik Kennedy won at 285 pounds, Brandon Simonson (160), Anthony Maiola (182) and Ryan Bitka (220) each placed second, and Amandip Deo took third at 170.
