Calik Kennedy continued an impressive season by taking second place at 285 pounds at Saturday's Niagara Frontier Wrestling Officials Association Tournament at Niagara County Community College.

The Amherst senior was seeded fourth and beat Jordan Holmes of North Tonawanda, 3-1, in sudden victory in the second round, downed fifth seed Alex Buckley of Lake Shore, 15-3, by major decision in the quarterfinals, upset top seed Antonio Cutie of Wyoming Seminary, 4-2, in the semifinals, and was pinned in the third period by Jaquan Johnson, the third seed from Grand Island.

Amherst coach Dennis Bauer said Kennedy's semifinal win over Cutrie was a physical battle.
