The second weekend in January saw some scheduling movements for tournaments to accommodate sectional dual meet tournaments statewide as well as the first annual New York State Dual Meet Tournament (January 26-27, Syracuse). This is usually one of the last open weekends of the season before class and sectional tournaments, dual meet tournaments, and the state tournament take place.

Nonetheless, the Eastern States Classic dominates whatever weekend it is held. This tournament draws wrestlers from all over NYS and the north east in general. Seven Section VI teams sent sixteen total wrestlers to this weekends' tournament.
