Wrestlers grapple in Albany; CL's Rowe makes semifinals

ALBANY — Five local wrestlers competed at the NYSPHAA State Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany on Friday. Chautauqua Lake-Westfield-Clymer-Panama's Bryce Rowe made the semifinals and will go for a championship today.

Rowe, seeded third in the 160-pound weight class, beat Mike Wilmot of Section 4's Bainbridge-Guilford-Afton in a 10-0 major decision. In the second round, Rowe won by major decision again, a 12-4 score over sixth-seeded Charlie Grygas of Section 2's Duanesburg.
